Artist's statement:
The Impressionists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries are a strong influence upon my own work. Another thing about my own work, I like to work fast. I just don't have the temperament to labor a half year on one painting. I'm a fast impulsive painter... I have almost a zen experience when I paint. I observe that... The longer one labors over a given work... the stiffer and deader it seems to become... very static very lifeless.... We all have different ways of relating to what we do... as artists and this is essentially where I am coming from, at least for now.
