I'm really excited to be involved with the
increasingly popular eco-chic form of "upcycled" jewelry.
That is, the materials I'm using are not being recycled, but
becoming more valuable, which is upcycling. (Well, the scraps
are being recycled.) Right now I'm working with Arizona Tea cans,
Coke cans and Dr. Pepper cans. Any cans can be used, of course.
I'm also using wine bottles, scrap glass and old Christmas tree
lights.
The jewelry pictured in the first four
rows below was crafted using the "copper foil" stained
glass technique. The aluminum can is sandwiched between a layer
of aluminum and a layer of glass. The solder used in this jewelry
does not contain any lead.
The items pictured are made to order. If
you're interested in purchasing any of these items or having
your own can or bottle turned into a unique piece of jewelry,
just email me at Trish@GypsyGemWorks.com
for pricing info. I accept Paypal.

I found this shard
of glass in the woods while hiking along a stream at Alum Springs
Park. On the right, it's new life as an "upcycled"
glass leaf pendant. |
